Keynote – Gail Roper

Raleigh, NC – We are honored and excited to announce that we have confirmed Gail Roper as the Keynote speaker for Triangle Open Data Day. The Keynote is scheduled for 9:00 AM (EST) on Saturday, February 22, 2014.

Gail Roper is the Chief Information and Community Relations Officer at the City of Raleigh. Ms. Roper has experience as an IT executive, a CIO, and a C-level administrator. Previous to her service in Raleigh, Ms. Roper has held positions in the cities of Kansas City, MO and Austin, TX. Ms. Roper is a proponent of the Open Source and Open Data movements and regularly speaks to a national audience – recently at the Code for America Summit 2013 (see video below).

Ms. Roper is the Founder of the Raleigh Digital Connectors, a youth program that identifies talented young people ages 14-21 to become Digital Connectors and receive intensive training in technology and the benefits of volunteerism.

Ms. Roper has a long and distinguished CV and we are honored to have her present the Triangle Open Data Day Keynote.
